Giofam Investments Inc. currently operates several aggregate licenced pits in the City of Kawartha Lakes (former Eldon Township) with the name of Vicdom Sand and Gravel (Ontario) Limited and under the authority of Licences #3483, #14448 and #3348 under the Aggregate Resources Act.
Giofam has applied for a new quarry, Class “A”, Category 2 (Quarry Below Water) Aggregate Licence to excavate granite aggregate material from a quarry of 84.0 hectares in area (EBR #010-6875). The annual tonnage condition applied for is 200,000 tonnes.
Endangered species at risk: Eastern Whip-poor-will, Blanding’s Turtle, Eastern Hog-nosed Snake.
